Google Calendar is live

Dave Winer broke the news and Mike Arrington confirmed it - everyone’s favorite mega SE just launched Google Calendar.

The screenshots have been leaked/shown before but the live example looks good. Looks like you need a Gmail account to login but once there, you’re presented with a nice clean monthly calendar, with views for day/weekly/month/next 4 days/agenda. Features Ive played with so far include the ability to invite people to an event and searching for public calendars.

On the search, it looks like they have honed in on their own calendars and iCals. It also looks like you will be able to incorporate different holiday calendars as well as view your friend’s calendars. In the settings, you’ll be able to setup alerts via email/SMS/pop-up. Importing of existing calendars is available via csv and iCal format.

Great tool so far.
